I recently completed a small scale commission from a recurring customer, Mia, to create an illustration of her Sister’s house for her birthday, and it was SUCH A JOY to do! You may have noticed I don’t actually often draw people, especially faces, this is because, firstly I really struggle with them, but also I think theres SO MUCH to say about a person without actually including them! I’m really grateful that Mia understands this, completely gets my illustration style and always provides a million reference pics and descriptive pointers. I was able to capture all the personalities of the people who lived there through all their fun visual cues. By the end of it I felt I had really experienced living there despite never having visited or even met any of the people who did! I’ve also attached the initial sketch I presented! I always find it funny that people still have faith in me after I show them my plans in this stage 😭😂
